And I love marketing. Like warm pecan pie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream and a splash (er um, ok gallon) of brown butter bourbon glaze on top, love it.
Working with me is like having a consultant, mentor, and big sis’ with practical “been there done that” advice all wrapped up in one (or at least that’s what my clients say!). Stick with me and you’ll say the same soon.
I’m a million-dollar brand strategist turned passionate consultant and educator who’s here to help you build the skills and mindset to master marketing and bring your biggest dreams to life.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing you grow into a better version of yourself or your biz… Or watching you have that glorious “aha” moment of realization that marketing isn’t so hard after all… Or chips and guac, cause ya’ girl loves a good snack!
I was just a small-town girl trying to figure out her place in the world. Here’s a quick timeline of how I got where I am today that’s probably more interesting than whatever you planned to watch on Netflix.
Born to a single mama in a small town with one stoplight and more cows than people. My best friend was an American Paint Horse named Jenner (after Caitlyn).
AOL started sending CD's to the masses to help folks get online and I started studying how brands were marketing themselves on the web. I also prayed I didn't get sued for all those Napster downloads.
I transitioned from the '99 into the 2000s with a shiny new degree in communications, and no clue what to do with it. I was a first-generation college grad and my blue-collar family (the folks in the pic) wanted me to get a safe job in corporate. I did that and tried my best to make them proud despite feeling unsettled.
When I wasn't grinding at my 9-5, I was side hustling and attending startup weekends. Soon I was an early founder for a cloud storage solution that helped app developers reduce lag from API calls. The company got acquired but little money was made. Not one bought a lambo and I kept on in corporate.
An old friend called and asked if I could help JCP navigate their way through an SEO scandal that made front page of the New York Times. Then a new CEO came in and lost the company $4 Billion (with a capital B) in 17 months. I kept my channels profitable but did it while watching hundreds of coworkers and friends get pink-slipped week after week. Learning how to treat folks with respect and dignity in hard times is a lesson I'll never forget.
I joined AT&T to support the launch of a new project that later turned into Cricket Wireless, a wildly successful and beloved consumer brand. Also ran some pretty cool campaigns, including one that double trended on Twitter and another that snagged the first Guinness World Record for most selfies taken in an hour.
Relocated to Atlanta where I spent a few years eating my weight in cheese grits, doubling down on personal growth, and adventuring with the most amazing crew of friends. My identity as a corporate ladder climber began to dissolve.
Trusted my gut and made a "swift" decision to move to LA... like put everything in storage, got rid of my place, and road-tripped across the country with my bestie in 72 hours kinda "swift". I arrived at ocean view digs by the beach and called Cali my new home.
Joined a West Coast tech startup and used my corporate expertise to strengthen their enterprise client roster. I advised executives at brands like Sephora, Starbucks, and Anytime Fitness in the US, UK, and Netherlands on using digital and social media to increase customer satisfaction and engagement.
My connection with self and intuition reached new depths. I began meditating, explored sweat lodge ceremonies, and even took an ice bath with Wim Hof. I also began spiritual studies in metaphysics and energy healing.
Took a hairy scary leap of faith and became a full-time marketing consultant and mentor working with entrepreneurs and corporations on a mission to change the world for the better. I learned that most people thought they needed help with marketing skills or execution, but they really needed help shifting their mindset and finding the courage to do uncomfortable things.
Took my love for marketing to the collegiate level and accepted an offer to become an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California teaching graduate students how to become better storytellers with data.
Wrote a book called Ignite the Entrepreneur with 36 others that hit Amazon's #1 ranking in 13 categories across the US, Canada, Australia, and Spain.
Politics. Human rights. Religion. Yup, I’m going there. Why take the risk of offending you?
Because contrary to age-old advice to keep these topics hush hush is the reality that our beliefs on controversial topics show up in the way we hold space for others. Inclusion, equity, and creating safe containers are key to what I do. I hope that bringing my whole self to the table gives you permission to do the same.
